GETTING STARTED

WELCOME

The relationship between therapist and client is the most important indicator of the potential for a positive change.  The initial session allows us to assess the fit of the relationship.  If, following the first session, it is determined that we are not a good fit, I will provide you with a number of referrals for other therapists.

To schedule a conversation to assess fit, better understand the therapeutic process, or discuss fees, please email portlandrelationshiptherapy@gmail.com.

Please note that while I make every effort to maintain the privacy of all communications, no email server can guarantee confidentiality. If you choose to email me, I cannot guarantee the security of our exchange. If this concerns you, please call and leave a message stating your name, interest in therapy and a telephone number where I can leave a voicemail if I don’t catch you.

FEES & BILLING

Sessions are $175 per individual and $215 per couple session.  Please ask about my sliding scale if the listed fees are beyond what you can pay at this time.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

f you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

INSURANCE

I do not accept any insurance and am considered “out of network” for all insurance companies.  Some insurance companies will reimburse for sessions with out of network providers. You may contact your insurance company to discuss their reimbursement process and see if you plans has this benefit.

FREQUENCY

....it depends!  Most clients begin with weekly sessions so progress can be quickly felt.  Therapy generally works well with weekly sessions for 4-6 months, however therapy is customized to each person, based on individual goals and circumstances.  Many clients are doing deep transformational work and often return over the years.  When using Brainspotting therapy for specific traumas, memories or beliefs, the work can occur in just a few sessions.
